New
Software Release Scheduled
In
mid-May AR Traffic will make available enhanced versions (4.0)
of all of its software modules. In addition, new modules will
be introduced to support the existing suite of transportation
solutions.
Each
year, ARTC gathers the recommended upgrades as suggested by
our user base. These items along with necessary changes to
accommodate the ever changing trends in the industry are carefully
reviewed for consideration when determining the new capabilities
which will be added to each release. We make every effort
to minimize the architectural design of the files so as to
accommodate existing interfaces and ensure the transfer of
data from the current version to the most recent release.
CalcRate
our flagship rating, carrier selection and payment module
will include the following changes/enhancements:
- Flexible
accessibility to the Freight History file

All non-direct charges (including stop-off, accessorial,
etc.) allocated to the line items.

Ability to capture Delivery Date and Delivery Time.
- Payment/Audit
process for parcel carriers.
- CalcPak
confirmed parcel data will now be transferred to CalcRates
freight Accrual file.
- Mass
copy capability for all modes, including across-the-board
increase capability.
- New
truckload rate maintenance feature: Rates by weight
break.
- Accommodation
of Floor Charges in excess of $999.99.
- Ability
to calculate billable freight charges by individual customer.
- Automatic
Pro # assignment.
- Many
ease-of-use features.
The following CalcPak 4.0 parcel scale, label and manifest
upgrades include capability recently added our interim version
3.2 release:
- UPS
"Host Access," includes electronic manifesting
and direct connectivity for tracking.
- RPS
processing capability.
- FED
EX processing capability.
- USPS
processing capability.
- Unattended
"Weigh-In-Motion" processing.
- Customer
Master File for repetitive non-order shipments.
Dimension Rating.
- Recording
of costs by individual parcel and "hundred weight"
allocation.
Corresponding
Upgrades to CalcRoute,
CalcClaim and
the Manual Entry
modules will be described in future issues. For more detailed

An
important note to all customers using Version 2 software series.
Transition to Version 3 is required in order to take full
advantage of this new release. ARTCs automatic data
transfer does skip generations.
